Sound but no picture, or picture but no sound
Short answer: if a player opens only part of a video, the file may be damaged or the player may not know the format. Upload the file; we check which one it is and repair it.
Why?
- The player does not support the format of the picture (for example H.265).
- The recording was cut.
- The file was converted by a program that lost the sound or the picture.
Do this now
- If you still have the original, keep it; upload the original, not a converted copy.
Do not
- Do not try to recover sound and picture one by one with different programs; they go out of sync.
On the result page
- How many seconds of picture and of sound came back, each on its own.
- If sound and picture drift apart it is shown; you can choose the frame rate and try again.
- We never count a result that lost the sound as "repaired".
Questions
The picture is black, the sound is there. The result page also shows how much of the video is black or frozen.
